Sortable Tables & Custom Columns
- would like the ability to sort table columns
- would like to be able to add / remove table columns and have columns like "Genre" (Kind of like datatables)
Crates primarily displays feeds of tracks, which often contain hundreds/thousands of tracks. If you sorted by artist, label, or track name, the returned list wouldn’t be very useful.
Could you guys give some examples of columns you’d want to sort by, and in what context?
Crates now supports filtering by Beatport genre, release date, and musical key, so I think that might cover most of the use cases here.
In regards to adding or removing columns – I like that idea. What columns from Beatport would you want to be able to add, besides genre?

I can go on my beatport, do a search and sort at will. I can sort an artist’s tracks from oldest to newest. I can’t do that on crates. It would be great to get that over here. Being able to sort a list is a force multiplier. Please don’t underestimate its usefulness.

I'd like to be able to order 'my beatport' results by label a-z, to replicate the functionality from beatport itself.

When looking at a Top 100 chart, I'd like to reverse sort by placing, so that I can start listening at the bottom and just run through to the top, to listen to possibly under appreciated tracks first.

I'd suggest at least BPM as a sorting tool. It'd make my DJ life a lot easier!
In fact, all this talk of sorting by should really be boosted by filtering by too

If we could sort by column, INCLUDING the ✓ column, it'd be way easier to sort the list based off what you've already listened to / not listened to and less jumping around would be necessary!

I think it would be useful to be able to sort by any column, just as you can in iTunes. I found I wanted to sort by track length earlier to move all the radio edits to one end (so I can ignore them).

I'd like to be able to sort by label to group results and work through them label by label.

I personally LOVE the new filter option. It's working exactly like the idea above, but better.
