There are a few sites that already do it, but would be great resource to have Beatport chart tracking inside Soundsystem.15 votes
Add wavs to SoundSystem from HTTP link
I keep all of my master wavs on my FTP, which is also then accessible via HTTP. Instead of having to download them to then re-upload them, it would be great if you could add wavs to SoundSystem from an HTTP link, or even link in to my FTP and transfer from there.9 votes
Would be great if when an EP was released on Beatport, SoundSystem knew this and generated it's own trackable short URL (like bit.ly) to EP. We could then use this link in our promo, and also view how many clicks, etc. I know it's doable now (manually, but would be great to see this in SoundSystem in the Performance area along with sales info.9 votes
I absolutely love proton’s real time data for sales, but being in numbers makes it harder to see long term sales trends in a graphic way.
Both SoundCloud and bandcamp provide nice graphic ways of seeing sales over time, could something be implemented using the soundsystem data? It would make it easier to see sales spikes and other interesting things, and could possible punch out some interesting graphs at the end of the year of trends etc, which I think would be great promo tools.6 votes
Hello. I am trying to upload an artist photo, with the 500 x 500 JPEG image dimensions required, but it is still not successful. I keep getting the "ERROR: Incorrect dimensions. Please check the requirements" message. Thanks for your help.1 vote
Make sure your image is in RGB format (not CMYK or Greyscale). And make sure its 72DPI.
If you’re still having trouble, send the image over to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can take a look!
rearrange the artist name and track name with out having to delete or copy and paste.... mixcloud is a good example. you can switch artist name and track title by clicking an arrow and it switches for you automatically.1 vote
It would be nice to see also Amazon (MP3) added. Is there something planned or still in process?1 vote
We’re in touch with Amazon, but unfortunately they’re not able to partner with Proton at this time. They say they don’t have the technical resources to accept our catalog at this time.
We’ll continue to follow up with Amazon and hope they’re able to help in the future. In the meantime, Proton is exploring new partnerships with other companies that we’re pretty excited about!
Amazon’s share of the digital music market is very small, especially for electronic music, so until they focus more on the music this isn’t a major priority for us either.
1 of my label's back catalogue releases currently does not appear on New Beatport -- Can Proton re-ship this release just to New Beatport, so that it doesn't create a duplicate on Beatport Pro?
Many thanks!1 vote
The new Beatport site uses a separate encoding/music library than Beatport Pro, so there is a chance a release may not have correctly been imported from Beatport Pro to the new Beatport.
The import process between Beatport Pro and the new Beatport is automatic & handled by Beatport, not distributors, so you’ll need to reach out to email@example.com to investigate whenever this happens until we learn more.
