Request: Indie Dance Hype Top 100
Hi there,
first of let me start with a huge THANK YOU for the amazing thing that is crates.co.I recently discovered that you added the hype charts for some of the genres but unfortunately not for "Indie Dance". It would be amazing if you'd add that one as well at some point.
Cheers and thanks again for your great work

Query Music Older Than 6 Months
I would greatly appreciate getting the functionality back that allowed for using the filters to query back historically beyond 6 months.
It appears a change was made at some point that took this functionality away. I used to be able to filter down a a long past month/year, example: 2013.
That's a really useful tool for users and would presumable increase sales of older tracks as I love being able to go back in time so to speak.
Thanks!
9 votesGood news everyone -- Beatport finally helped us fix the issue and you should be able to go past 6 months in feeds & the inbox now.
It should work through dates until 2010! Let us know here if you see any issues, though.

Reggae/Dancehall
What happened to Raggae/Dancehall genre??
1 voteBeatport unfortunately removed this genre from their store due to very low sales.
This is now a sub genre in “DANCE”. Crates does not currently support sub-genres though, but you can browse it directly on Beatport here – https://www.beatport.com/genre/dance-electro-pop/39/tracks?subgenre=239

'My Beatport' rebuilding with new searches...
G'day team,
I have a custom search query set up within a shortcut utility for MacOS called 'Alfred', thus allowing me to search the site using a query string of my choice.
Specifically: http://crates.co/search?q={QueryHere}
In practice: http://crates.co/search?q=good%20tune
I've noticed very recently that, when attempting to search after a day or so; I'm now taken to 'My Beatport' where my collection is rebuilt/reindexed.
Is this a recent change/modification?
Many thanks, as always.
1 voteThis should now be resolved — let us know if you still see any issues. :) Thanks for the bug report!

insecure connection
Hi - I just started using Crates. I have some feedback and possible bugs which i'll break up by topic.
First one is that firefox tells me my connection is insecure. I have the padlock icon with a cross through it when logged into crates.
1 voteTry changing your URL to https://crates.co/ and it should resolve the problem. :)

funk/soul/disco
Why there are no results in funk/soul/disco genre??
1 voteOK, all set – the genres have been updated. For disco, look to the “Nu Disco / Disco” genre.

Looking for a quickstart user manual intro
The djtechtools.com article provides a good overview of features, and the keystroke shortcuts are great, but I am looking for some kind of user manual. I know these can be tedious to write, but even just a short description of a few typical workflows, and how the main features work, would be very helpful. Perhaps this already exists and I just haven't found it yet. I suppose I am old school but I like to RTFM. Thank you for considering!
1 voteGlad you found us via DJ Tech Tools!
We have a short read-me here that covers most of it:

some bugs
Uncaught (in promise) DOMException: Failed to load because no supported source was found.
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 503 (Backend is unhealthy)
same applies to any other track i attempt to preview.
1 voteBeatport is currently down, and Crates runs on Beatport — so try again in a day or so, when Beatport is back, and things should be back to normal. :)
If you continue to have the error after a few days drop a line to: jason@crates.co

Ability to pull all artists from label and easy add some/all of them to specific carte
for example: I wanna follow Innervisions label and pull all the artists inside to a specific carte. those artists inside release music not only in Innervisions and I wanna keep an eye open for them when they release in other labels as well. currently I have to do it one by one, move to next page, again & again. thanks!
1 voteHi Eliran!
We actually have a decent solution for this, but it’s not exactly what you asked for here.
On Crates, just find the label you’re interested in, then click “Feed”.
This feed view for a label displays all tracks on Beatport/Crates by the artists on this label – not limited to the releases on the label itself. :)

Max Crates Number Reached :( sad sad

Add separate crates for Beatport Hype Charts
Beatport Hype looks great, would be awesome to check it once in a while like "My Beatport" crate or "Inbox"
1 voteGood news, team: Beatport Hype charts have been added now to Crates. Only 10 genres have Hype Top 100 charts, to see which visit: https://intercom.help/proton-radio/en/articles/1967365-what-genres-on-beatport-have-a-beatport-hype-top-100-chart?fbclid=IwAR3ZOSBfXguTLgUQ2aFjUVpZ6N8oslE0InnmRDmaJEza9b6H51bLGpS1PhA

Spotify playlist integration
Thank you so much for building Crates....a lot of us DJs these days use Spotify to discover our music and build playlists. It would be really cool if a Spotify playlist link can be given to Crates and it creates a crate out of it . Add to that the option to buy everything on that crate, and boom - gig prep is done.
21 votesAs some of you may have seen, our initial Spotify integration is complete! You can now load Spotify playlists into Crates.

Show User Charts
In Beatport, when a track is played, the left hand pane will usually show some related user charts which include that track. These are typically DJ or Beatport recommended charts. They are sometimes useful for crate digging and finding some other good tracks.
Would be nice if Crates could show those too. With that and the new Genre feature, I might never need to look at Beatport again (and that would be awesome, I might add)! ;)
1 voteHi Don! This feature is already included in Crates. When you click play on a track, look in the left pane at the bottom — any chart featuring that track is displayed. :)

Make the website secure
In Chrome, the little (i) in the top left of the URL address bar says the site isn't secure. For peace of mind, please fix :-)))
1 voteHey JKind! Maybe try changing your URL to:
https://crates.co/ :) It should be secure. -
Blacklisting of labels and releases
Every now and then, there are releases with a lot of tracks in it that I want to erase from my feed as a whole without having to listen to them in order to "check" them.
A similar thing is missing for labels. Some labels should not appear in a feed even if a crate's artist appears on them.
It would be good to have a button available when hovering over a release or label (in the same window as the crates) that will add this to a blacklist.
6 votesYou can now “Mute” an artist or label by selecting that as an option at the bottom of the Crates widget!

use the same genres and sub genres as beatport.
Use exactly the same genres and sub-genres for filtering tunes, either in your beatport or the whole of beatport. Also, add the new genres Beatport have just added. For example, the new Melodic Techno Genre is not accessible in Crates.
1 voteWe’ve added genres to Crates! Under “My Crates” in the left menu, you can now add favorite genres to easily navigate and browse.
You can bring up a feed of all the tracks in that genre, or click the “Top 100” tab to see that genre’s Top 100. :)
We don’t currently support sub-genres because Beatport doesn’t let artists or labels submit tracks into these genres right now, so here is very little music in those sub-genres.
If enough of you want sub-genre support, please create a new request in UserVoice.

crate
What exactly do the crates do? I'm confused what adding my tracks to them does versus putting them in my cart
1 voteWhen you add an ARTIST or LABEL to your Crate, this will allow you to see new music by these artists + labels in the “Feed” area of the Crate.
Think of it like a mini-My Beatport, where you can organize artist and labels you want to follow into specific collections – compared to My Beatport where it’s only one giant list.
In a Crate, you can also add tracks, releases, and charts – but these don’t generate new songs in the “Feed”.

New Tracks by Multiple Genres ?
I'm not sure if I'm missing something... All I want to do is just browse new music, not "My Beatport Artist/Labels" etc, but the entire beatport...
Example: I Currently just goto Beatport homepage, click the "Tracks" tab, which shows me every track on Beatport with the newest showing first.
I then select multiple filter options to only show me just the genres & bpm ranges I wish to see, so I'm now looking at all the newest music that may interest me. Can I do this in crates? Surely I can view a feed that ISN'T "My Beatport".- The multiple…

Hide Tracks That Have Been Played
Would be great to have an option completely remove played tracks from the interface. This is particularly useful when you add artists/labels to a crate and it then puts new songs in amongst the previously viewed content.
Thanks for all the work you've put into this already. Its literally a game changer for me, as digging on beatport itself was so painful I can only bring myself to do it once every few months! I can see myself keeping much more up to date with this.
James
22 votesGood news! An update for you guys waiting: a this feature has been introduced, it’s called “Inbox” and will hide any tracks you’ve already heard.
Test it out here: https://crates.co/inbox
The only place to hide played tracks is inside the inbox right now. If you want to see this added to other parts of the site, please start a NEW feature request — but we think this should cover most use cases.

Enable the possibility to filter/sort in tour crates
It would be awesome to be able to filter and sort on your crates. Especially as mybeatport is a separate crate it would be very useful to filter on given columns (e.g. Genre, artist or key). Currently you only have the possibility to start from the top, ergo the latest releases. Especially with the new function of beatport that you can also see pre releases you now see the same tracks on top of this crate for weeks at a time.
This function is would great help the possibility to discover new music
7 votesThanks for the feedback! You can now filter by musical key, genre, and release date.
There’s also a toggle to completely hide pre-orders, too. :)
