By popular request, we’ve updated Crates to include a new “Filter” area above each feed.

We’re testing 2 filters to start with: By Date, and By Key.

Give it a try and let us know what you think? Click “Show Filters” above the tracklist!

  2. Hide Tracks That Have Been Played

Would be great to have an option completely remove played tracks from the interface. This is particularly useful when you add artists/labels to a crate and it then puts new songs in amongst the previously viewed content.

Thanks for all the work you've put into this already. Its literally a game changer for me, as digging on beatport itself was so painful I can only bring myself to do it once every few months! I can see myself keeping much more up to date with this.

Good news! An update for you guys waiting: a this feature has been introduced, it’s called “Inbox” and will hide any tracks you’ve already heard.

    Test it out here: https://crates.co/inbox

The only place to hide played tracks is inside the inbox right now. If you want to see this added to other parts of the site, please start a NEW feature request — but we think this should cover most use cases.

  3. Spotify playlist integration

Thank you so much for building Crates....a lot of us DJs these days use Spotify to discover our music and build playlists. It would be really cool if a Spotify playlist link can be given to Crates and it creates a crate out of it . Add to that the option to buy everything on that crate, and boom - gig prep is done.

  4. New Tracks by Multiple Genres ?

I'm not sure if I'm missing something... All I want to do is just browse new music, not "My Beatport Artist/Labels" etc, but the entire beatport...

Example: I Currently just goto Beatport homepage, click the "Tracks" tab, which shows me every track on Beatport with the newest showing first.
I then select multiple filter options to only show me just the genres & bpm ranges I wish to see, so I'm now looking at all the newest music that may interest me. Can I do this in crates? Surely I can view a feed that ISN'T "My Beatport".

    • The multiple…

  5. Query Music Older Than 6 Months

I would greatly appreciate getting the functionality back that allowed for using the filters to query back historically beyond 6 months.

It appears a change was made at some point that took this functionality away. I used to be able to filter down a a long past month/year, example: 2013.

That's a really useful tool for users and would presumable increase sales of older tracks as I love being able to go back in time so to speak.

    Thanks!

Good news everyone -- Beatport finally helped us fix the issue and you should be able to go past 6 months in feeds & the inbox now.

It should work through dates until 2010! Let us know here if you see any issues, though.

  6. Better Filtering and bulk assignment

Improve the "My Beatport" Feed Filtering mechanisms and then allow bulk crate assignments. I may disagree with Beatport's genre classifications, but it's a good enough start so I'm not looking at 15000 pages of new music (with only 50 at a time btw).

It should be straightforward to let me type "House" into a filterable column header, and just get back tracks with, for example, genres matching "House".

I have like 10 genres in My Beatport stream, I don't want to waste time cataloging tracks from artists or labels I hardly pay attention to.
    90% of the time I'm looking…

Thanks for the feedback, Emilio! We’ve added filtering by Release Date, Musical Key, and Genre. Give it a try? Click “Show Filters” in the top right above any feed.

For Traktor integration, please open a new feature request. It’d be great if you can outline what you’d want to see in Crates specifically with Traktor support. :)

  7. Enable the possibility to filter/sort in tour crates

It would be awesome to be able to filter and sort on your crates. Especially as mybeatport is a separate crate it would be very useful to filter on given columns (e.g. Genre, artist or key). Currently you only have the possibility to start from the top, ergo the latest releases. Especially with the new function of beatport that you can also see pre releases you now see the same tracks on top of this crate for weeks at a time.

This function is would great help the possibility to discover new music

  8. Blacklisting of labels and releases

Every now and then, there are releases with a lot of tracks in it that I want to erase from my feed as a whole without having to listen to them in order to "check" them.

A similar thing is missing for labels. Some labels should not appear in a feed even if a crate's artist appears on them.

It would be good to have a button available when hovering over a release or label (in the same window as the crates) that will add this to a blacklist.

  9. Show all Carts in my Beatport account

At the moment I can only see Hold Bin and Shopping Cart.

I use carts to do the same thing as Crates, so I want to be able to see both in the same place rather than manually transfer my Carts to Crates.

  10. search tracks by key

Since you already display the keys of different tracks, and you have the option to right click on a specific key to display other tracks from the feed in that key, it would be very handy if you have an actual option to search by a specific key.

Beatport has this function, although it displays the actual notes (I find the way you display keys much more useful anyway as it correlates with what you see in Serato). The problem with Beatport is that you can't search for tracks of the desired key within your own feed of labels and…

  11. Add an option to browse by artists and labels in My Beatport

I can only imagine you're probably working on this, but if not, this would be good. Show me all of my artists in a list so I can browse to them. Ideally it would show how many releases that artists has within the time period of tracks that I'm looking at.

Click on the “MyBeatport” Crate in the left pane and then click “Collection”. It will show you all the artists and labels that you follow & click to them to see their full catalogs.

  12. Add an option to REMOVE artists and labels with the click of a button.

Currently this is a laborious process on Beatport. I've actually figured out through looking at the URL to ADD a label you can just switch it around to REMOVE it.

    Add URL: http://classic.beatport.com/my-beatport/add/label/7008

To make your own remove URL you can change it to:

    http://classic.beatport.com/my-beatport/remove/label/7008

But doing that is ridiculous. Seriously. Just add a remove link. Eeesh!

You can easily remove any artist or label from your MyBeatport collection by unclicking it in the Crate widget. Hover over an artist or label name, then just click off MyBeatport. It will be removed from your MyBeatport.

  15. Ability to pull in different carts @ beatport? Then be able to import into specific crates?

or even be able to tie a crate to a specific cart?

This way we could publically share what's in our carts over @ BP

  16. crate

What exactly do the crates do? I'm confused what adding my tracks to them does versus putting them in my cart

When you add an ARTIST or LABEL to your Crate, this will allow you to see new music by these artists + labels in the “Feed” area of the Crate.

Think of it like a mini-My Beatport, where you can organize artist and labels you want to follow into specific collections – compared to My Beatport where it’s only one giant list.

In a Crate, you can also add tracks, releases, and charts – but these don’t generate new songs in the “Feed”.

  17. use the same genres and sub genres as beatport.

Use exactly the same genres and sub-genres for filtering tunes, either in your beatport or the whole of beatport. Also, add the new genres Beatport have just added. For example, the new Melodic Techno Genre is not accessible in Crates.

We’ve added genres to Crates! Under “My Crates” in the left menu, you can now add favorite genres to easily navigate and browse.

You can bring up a feed of all the tracks in that genre, or click the “Top 100” tab to see that genre’s Top 100. :)

We don’t currently support sub-genres because Beatport doesn’t let artists or labels submit tracks into these genres right now, so here is very little music in those sub-genres.

If enough of you want sub-genre support, please create a new request in UserVoice.

  18. Make the website secure

In Chrome, the little (i) in the top left of the URL address bar says the site isn't secure. For peace of mind, please fix :-)))

  19. Show User Charts

In Beatport, when a track is played, the left hand pane will usually show some related user charts which include that track. These are typically DJ or Beatport recommended charts. They are sometimes useful for crate digging and finding some other good tracks.

Would be nice if Crates could show those too. With that and the new Genre feature, I might never need to look at Beatport again (and that would be awesome, I might add)! ;)

  20. Add separate crates for Beatport Hype Charts

Beatport Hype looks great, would be awesome to check it once in a while like "My Beatport" crate or "Inbox"
