Sortable Tables & Custom Columns
- would like the ability to sort table columns
- would like to be able to add / remove table columns and have columns like "Genre" (Kind of like datatables)
87 votesCrates primarily displays feeds of tracks, which often contain hundreds/thousands of tracks. If you sorted by artist, label, or track name, the returned list wouldn’t be very useful.
Could you guys give some examples of columns you’d want to sort by, and in what context?
Crates now supports filtering by Beatport genre, release date, and musical key, so I think that might cover most of the use cases here.
In regards to adding or removing columns – I like that idea. What columns from Beatport would you want to be able to add, besides genre?

Out of curiosity, what interests you guys more:
(1) Infinite Scroll – more tracks constantly load, without you needing to click to the next page?
(2) More Tracks Per Page – Just more tracks per page, like 100 or 150, like the Beatport site?
Thanks for feedback!

I would love the ability to actually customize my own keyboard shortcuts
The arrow keys may have been hot shit in 1996, but these days most peoples hands gravitate towards AWSD (Games) or ASDF (Typing).
The ability to set these ourselves would, for example, probably speed up listening and skipping through tracks.8 votes -
Feature: "Chart Score"
It's my understanding that Beatport doesn't release the number of times a track has been bought or played, correct? One way Crates might be able to give tracks a popularity ranking could be thought something like a "Chart Score".
Every time a track gets posted to a chart, it gets one point. You could then sort tracks based on Chart Score to get a good idea of what tracks are blowing up. For example if I click on "Black Cow" by
Booka Shade & Yaruba it appears on 30 charts by my count. That would give it a Chart Score…9 votesThanks for the feedback Ryan – you’re right that we could capture a “Times Charted” every time we load the track, but tracks only get loaded when a user plays/selects them. This means the data would only get updated on tracks users are selecting, so I don’t think it’s that valuable.
The other thing is that not many DJs are posting Charts on Beatport right now, for various reasons, so I actually don’t think “Times Charted” is a very meaningful metric until Beatport expands their playlists/charts. It’s not a priority of theirs right now, unfortunately.
We’ll definitely keep an eye on this once we get access to the new Beatport API next year though, hopefully. :) Keep the feedback/ideas coming until then!

Allow an option for me to share my cart with anyone through a private URL
I've always wanted this feature. So that I can get friends to come in and listen to my cart and then give a thumbs up or thumbs down to the items in my cart.

Add "Next Track" and "Previous Track" buttons to the player
Add simple fast forward and rewind buttons around the current play/pause button.
9 votesJay, have you tried using the hotkeys? You can quickly skip to the next track or previous track without needing to use a button. Click the ? at the top of Crates to see all the available hotkeys. Will that do the trick for you here? :)

Rating Artist or Label (private, not public)
Hi community! For a long period of use of "my beatport", it became necessary to clean the list of favourits artists. It would be nice if each artist or label had two buttons plus and minus (increment + 1 and decrement -1), and then for some time it would be possible to analyze what artist or label without a rating, and remove unnecessary artists from the list. Sorry for bad english.

Search Box Highlighted.
Perhaps highlight the search box a little more. On a few occasions i've had trouble spotting where it is!

Deleted Carts pop up after a while
First of all, thank you so much for this awesome tool! I really enjoy discovering new releases and I couldn't imagine going back to plain Beatport.
Now I noticed that after pressing the "Delete Cart" button, all of those carts pop up in the list - usually the day after. I accidentally created lots of them and now I only use like half of them.
Is there any chance to make them disappear?
3 votesNils, could you check if these Carts you tried to delete are actually removed on the main Beatport site? Sounds like it might be a bug with Beatport.
Does this only happen to certain carts?

Ability to filter out tracks you already own by uploading a file with their details
For example, uploading a CSV with the relevant metadata that then persists so you can only see tracks you haven't listened to. Ability to combine this with the other filters too.

View all charts created for your MyBeatport artists or artists in a crate
It would be great to have a view where all the charts for your favourite artists are listed by release date. This means you can keep an eye on new chart releases across all your followed artists, something which should be possible but neither beatport or crates allows.
3 votesThis is a feature we’d love to add, but we’re limited by Beatport itself — they don’t give us the option to do this yet. We hope in the future it’s possible. :)

I would love to be able to cruise the top 100 in different genres on crates.co
The check mark for previously listened to tracks is my favourite time-saver on crates.co
Would really love to be able to check out the top 100 tracks in all the genres and only listen to the ones I haven't heard before.
PS. Thanks so much for making this. I have been using it for years and I love it.9 votesThanks for the positive feedback, Tim! Glad you’re enjoying Crates. :)
I think Genre support will be something we add in the near future once a few of our other priorities are finished. I’ll update this ticket when there’s news to report!

Differentiate shortcuts for skipping to prev/next track vs skipping to prev/next UNPLAYED track (-James Fish)
Havent logged into crates in a few months and surprised to notice that the up/down arrows skip to the next or previous unplayed tracks. Sometimes i like listening to a track more than once, or comparing it with the other tracks in its release.
My suggestion: SHIFT+UP or SHIFT+DOWN skips to previous/next unplayed track. UP + DOWN (unmodified) increments by 1 in either direction regardless whether the next track has already been played or not.1 vote -

reset played track status or remove check mark
a way to remove the check mark of a track that has already been played.... i can think many reasons why you might want to reset the played status of the track so you can re listen again another day more carefully ... maybe there is a way of doing this already?? i cant find it
sometimes i just leave the player runing through all the tracks in the collection and preview new stuff while doing other things... then another day i want to be able to listen to all again to purchase the ones ive liked but i get…

Territory Options
As someone who lives in the UK, some tracks are showing that aren't available to me, and vice versa. Not to mention everything is in dollars and not pound sterling. An option to choose which territory you're in would be great!

Please can you show a history of listened to tracks
I found something great and then lost it and just couldn't find me way back to it, this would be really helpful!

Mark tracks that have already been listened to better
Instead of using tiny check mark, you could gray out an entire track that's already been listened to, or place a green dot next to it the way that Beatport Pro desktop app does.
